Dental Education and Degrees

Dentist Degree

After graduating from Starkville High School in 1976 and earning a B.S. in chemistry from Mississippi State University in 1980, Dr. Starr attended the University of Mississippi Dental School. He earned his DMD in 1984.

Periodontic Training

Dr. Starr returned to Starkville, MS, in 1984 and operated a general dentist's practice for two years before expanding his education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed his specialized periodontal training in June 1988.

Continuing Education

As a member of the Mississippi Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and American College of Dentists, Dr. Starr continues to expand his knowledge of dentistry. Golden Triangle Periodontal Center sponsors continuing education courses for dentists and hygienists in the Starkville and Columbus area. He has also made apperances on the show On The Beat, educating people on the benefits of specific dental services.
